Help our seniors age healthily: goal of $3,000

By Patricia Durocher • 10 December 2024

Since the shelter opened, we have noticed an evolution in the clientele we treat at the shelter. Now, senior animals are part of our daily lives and we want to offer them the same opportunity as our young animals.
In just 10 months, we have welcomed 100 dogs aged 8 and over and 100 cats aged 12 and over. In addition to the enormous stress of having to change environment at an advanced age, these animals often suffer from pain that goes unnoticed.
For their comfort, and to enable them to find a family, we therefore invest a lot of time and resources in their care:
– Scaling and tooth extraction
– Mass withdrawal
– Geriatric blood test to assess organ health
– X-ray
– Specialized diet
We strongly believe that these senior animals deserve to retire to a loving home and we would like to raise $3,000 to help cover some of our medical costs.
